You’ve chosen an essential part of your home.
Now let’s work together to create it.

Congratulations on your new floor or window furnishings! Before you can start enjoying them, you’ll need to do a few things to make sure the installation goes as smoothly as possible.

Remember - the team from your local store will be with you every step of the way, so if you’re not sure what’s required, just ask...

INSTALLING FLOORING

Preparing your floor

Before installation, you’ll need to:

  • Remove your existing floor. You may have opted for us to do this as part of our pricing, in which case, don’t worry!
  • Vacuum your flooring area, if you’ve removed flooring
  • Level your floor
  • Grind your floor to allow doors to slide open if your new floor will be higher than your previous one (this job is usually done by tradespeople)
  • Prepare a space inside or outside your home where our team can cut/saw any flooring during installation

Prior to installation

Prior to installation, you’ll need to:

  • First move any fragile objects out of cabinets so they don’t break when furniture is moved
  • Move furniture away from the installation area
  • Cover any air vents, heaters and nearby furniture
  • Ensure there’s a clear pathway for installers to move in and out of your home
  • Make sure power points are accessible and working

Installation day

On installation day, you’ll need to:

  • Keep kids and pets away from the installation area (as exciting as it is, they’ll just have to wait!)
  • Check your installation to make sure the look and feel is what you wanted

After installation

After installation, you’ll need to:

  • Make sure you’ve placed appropriate protectors on the feet of your furniture to avoid damaging your new floor
  • Return your furniture. Most flooring can be walked on within an hour of installation, so you won’t have to wait long
  • Show off your new floor to your local Choices team! Send them a few happy snaps once you’ve settled in.
